How to conduct four types of auto-coding (by extracted themes and subthemes, by sentiment analysis, by structured data, and by supervised machine learning based on existing human coding). How to create data visualizations (word trees, word clouds, dendrograms, ring lattice graphs, sociograms, and others) (for analysis and presentations). How to query the collected data in an NVivo project (word frequency counts, text searches, matrix coding queries, matrix queries, proximity text searches, and other forms of text parsing).

This training will be held 1:30-3:30 p.m. Online ISSR Summer Methodology Workshops Introduction to NVivo 12 for Windows: Uploading, Coding and Analyzing Qualitative Data Eric Griffith This workshop. The NVivo Server is located and run on a server-based on-campus.ĭata stored to the NVivo Server is not stored off-site or in any cloud-based storage.“Advanced NVivo 12 Plus/NVivo” is a follow-up presentation from the “Introduction to NVivo 12 Plus/NVivo” offered earlier this term. Where is Goldsmiths NVivo Server located? You can copy your project to and from the server when you are using your own computer, but you can only work with it on the server on an Open Access PC. It's just that on our Open Access computers it is the only place. How do I use NVivo Server as an individual researcher?įor an individual researcher on a personal device, the NVivo Server is simply another place to store your NVivo project. The NVivo Server can be very useful to research teams - you can all access the same project simultaneously and do not have to pass copies of your project between you for later merging. We have to use NVivo Server to enable NVivo to work. This is for technical reasons to do with the way that software is installed and managed on all of our Open Access PCs. Our Open Access computers only let you save your NVivo projects on our server - you cannot store them on the local computer or on an external hard drive. The NVivo Server enables you to store your NVivo project centrally and access it from any internet-connected computer. QSR International provides an additional one month grace period, and so all NVivo licence codes should remain valid until the end of July. NVivo is a qualitative data analysis (QDA) computer software package produced by QSR International.

To obtain the current NVivo licence code please type your username in the field below. For example, if a user wants to open an NVivo 12 (Windows) project, they must have NVivo 12 (Windows), or later, installed. NVivo does not provide forward compatibility - the user cannot open a project with a later format. The original project is not modified instead a converted copy of the project is created. NVivo provides backward compatibility-if a user with a later version of NVivo attempts to open a project in an earlier format (for example, a user opens an NVivo 11 project in NVivo 12 (Windows)), the user is prompted to convert the project to the later format.
